Member Stewardship

The Western Angiographic & Interventional Society is a California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation.  This is your member organization, so we encourage you to exercise your right to vote when ballots are distributed and provide thoughtful feedback to our surveys.  Your valued participation provides oversight over Society governance and ensures that the organization thrives and meets the needs of its community, while preserving the legacy established by its founders and past directors.

How can members impact the future of WAIS?

      • Maintain member status. Maintain your active member status by staying current on your membership dues. Attendance at the annual conference is not a requirement but is encouraged to maximize your membership.  Additionally, active members receive member notices and voting ballots.
      • Exercise your right to vote.  Beginning 2023, members will vote annually for 2 new qualified directors. The Board of Directors you elect will have governing responsibilities during their term.  Director candidates listed on the ballot are selected by the nominating committee.
      • Stay informed. Collectively, WAIS members have certain rights to approve and oversee governance of the Society.  For more details, we encourage you to read the WAIS 2023 Amended & Restated Bylaws.
      • Attend the Annual Meeting of the Members.  Beginning 2024, directors & officers will hold an annual meeting of the members at the annual conference.  The meeting agenda will include a status update on the state of the Society and annual election of Directors.
      • Participate in surveys:  The annual WAIS conference is planned and implemented according to ACCME standards and with input from WAIS member feedback regarding content, speakers and learning formats.  Your feedback is vital to our conference planning.
